How to be Healthy From the Inside

What does it mean to you? ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

It may surprise you… but it ain’t all looks, calories or size that will mean you’re ‘healthy’. Changing outside alone won’t change the inside - your gut, mindset, digestions, emotions, thoughts.

Flip it around

Why not try another way around - I’ll tell you: it works better and it’s more sustainable. Address the root cause, not the effect. Think about it like that:

You feel amazing after you had a day of good nourishing foods, right? I bet you also feel glowing and content after a lush date or time spent with your friends? And, you may also feel crappy and unwell even though you eat well most days, rock your calorie tracker but your job sucks & partner is an a-h**, right? ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

So how do you start being more healthy inside?
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Start SMALL. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

  • Take baby steps towards changing the way you think about food and how you want your lifestyle to look. Diets may get you there fast, but you likely will need to repeat them over and over. Think: long term changes you can commit to.

  • Pay attention to your areas of life and see where the imbalance may be present. What needs attention? Is it work? Social life? Your relationship with money? Try to observe it and address it in the right way. Do something different and see if it shifts anything else in your life also.

  • Eat real food - it does make a difference. Your body deserves the best fuel you can give it. Test it out for yourself: try to keep a food journal for a few days (including weekend) and note how you feel on each day after eating each meal. Any pattern or foods that make you feel down or ‘unhealthy’? Any particular food that bring joy and all the healthy feelings?

  • Find a way to wind down/ meditate/think/clear your head. Whatever your jam is. It can be ‘loud’ and stressful never stopping to reflect and get familiar with your emotions. Make a habit of it, stay aware and recognize the feelings and thoughts about yourself, other people, foods you choose on daily basis. See what changes it makes to how you carry yourself and how you feel.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Small steps will bring changes, of course they will. We need to learn to trust the process. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
